ABOUT THE NZ ART GUILD
The NZ Art Guild is a nationwide organization committed to promoting, supporting and providing resources and opportunities to every New Zealand artist. Artists of all career stages, genres, styles, mediums are invited to join. The NZ Art Guild aims to support NZ art by portraying the high quality, the diverse face and the beauty of New Zealand art.
MISSION STATEMENT
The NZ Art Guild aims to promote, encourage, support and lift profiles of NZ artists. The NZ Art Guild aims to support New Zealand Art by portraying the high quality, the diverse face, and the beauty of it and taking it out into the wider community for everyone to benefit from.
MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS FOR ARTISTS
The NZ Art Guild encourages artists to get out there and be recognized and provides several ways for members to promote themselves. These include:
- Promotion of artists’ profiles and websites,
- Promotion of events and exhibitions
- Three exhibition venues.
- Annual member exhibitions and other group exhibitions
- Theme challenges
- Collaborative projects where members contribute to one large artwork which is then exhibited and sold
It also offers:
- Discounts on art supplies and related products
- Members only forum which contains extensive resources, reference material and tutorials. The forum contains an active message board providing members with the opportunity to interact with other artists sharing experiences, advice and knowledge.
INNOVATIVE NATIONAL ART AWARDS
The NZ Art Guild holds an annual art awards which is open to all NZ Artists. This is a first in NZ – a challenge based art award designed to encourage artists to think outside the square and show the wider community a different side to art. This event is held at the Bruce Mason Centre, Takapuna Beach and has a first prize of $5000.
VIEW AND PURCHASE ORIGINAL NZ ART
The NZ Art Guild caters for Art Buyers, who can purchase original New Zealand art direct from artists. The website contains artist profiles with samples of their art. These link through to the artists own personal websites where there are many different artworks available for purchase. The NZ Art Guild website also lists exhibitions and events which everyone can attend.
CORPORATE ART MANAGEMENT SERVICE
The NZ Art Guild provides for the Corporate Market with a complete Art Management Service tailor made to meet the art requirements of any business or venue. The NZ Art Guild provides high quality, original NZ artwork with no hireage charge or purchase costs to the venue.

CHARITY INVOVLEMENT
The NZ Art Guild is proud sponsors of the Mental Health Foundation of NZ. Recently 88 artists joined together to create one artwork which was used to increase awareness of mental health issues and auctioned off to raise funds for the Mental Health Foundation. This image is also being used to promote the nationwide mental health awareness week campaign in October. The NZ Art Guild have been involved with several other charity fundraising initiatives including raising funds for the Tauranga Flood victims, Hurricane Katrina Victims, Art Aid Trust, NZ Shore Plover etc.

The NZ Art Guild is managed by Sophia Elise who is an Auckland based artist and founding member. She is supported in this role by a team of volunteers.
